18 lessons learnt in 18 years of my life.

1. Patience– Patience helps you to face setbacks and enjoy life much more. You cannot go much farther in life if you don’t have the ability of patience.

2. Acceptance– Accepting and letting go things will get you out of your comfort zone. There is no point of holding on to things as it just wastes time. Instead, let go and move further because there are better opportunities waiting.

3. Honesty– Being transparent helps you boost your self-confidence and self-esteem. Even though it might sound harsh to others but it reinforces your personality development.

4. Failure– Realising that it’s okay to fail. It is a part of learning. It makes you courageous and compassionate.

5. Gratitude– The feeling of being grateful for what you already have is necessary to live happily in present.

6. Self-realisation– You need to self-realise things before than anyone can make you realise. Whether you are wrong or right. Self-realisation has helped me improve a lot. It has shaped me into a better person.

7. Spirituality– The path of believing and worshipping in God develops peace and belief within you.

8. Growth mindset- The mindset to never stop learning and working even after achieving something is a growth mindset.

9. Reading- Reading at least 20 minutes per day enhances your knowledge. Moreover, you learn to speak confidently.

10. Kindness- No person is going to remember you if you are not kind and soft spoken to them even though you have achieved something great.

11. Communication skills- The way you communicate reflects your body language and personality. No degree from any renowned college or full grades would aid you if you do not have the skill to communicate.

12. Time- Time is your biggest enemy and friend. Take breaks, waste it but use it wisely.

13. Listening- Listen when people speak before being judgmental. It is the key to effective communication. People love when you listen to them with full interest.

14. Comparison- We all are different and unique in our own ways. Wasting time in comparing yourself with others is useless.

15. Joy of little things- If you want to feel the joy of big things then learn to be happy with the little progress that you make.

16. Trusting the process- As it is mentioned in our Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta, कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन। मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥

Focus on the process and result will come on its own.

17. Speaking up for yourself- You need to take a stand for yourself and show up for yourself when nobody believes in you.

18. The attitude of ‘I know nothing’- This is the key. The attitude of I know nothing even though you have amount of knowledge makes you stick down to earth. As knowledge is never-ending.

These are the eighteen reasons that I have learnt in 18 years. (In fact, there are more) I have written long forms of some of the topics already (linking below) and will eventually upload about as many as I can.

That’s it for today.

See you all next week!
